The way to Galle can be frantic and faraway, but once you reached the Apa Villa Thalpe in Sri Lanka makes it worth all the hassle. The originator of Insight Guides, Hans Hoefer owns this beautiful place. The dramatic silver-blue pool and the swaying palm trees come between you and the view.
On the southerly coast of Indonesia, faraway from Bali’s trekking scenery lies the Puri Santrian. Inside, you will find classic-designed bungalow with wooden doors that are thoroughly carved, an open-air bathroom made of stone and natively built wood and rattan furniture. Additionally, you can stay in one of the bigger Club rooms that are paid per night in a reasonable price. Inside the rooms are marble bathrooms, four-poster beds, a breakfast of peculiar fruit juices and morning rice also known as nasi goreng and admission to the waterfall-fed resort pools. Although the beach is public, it is still not that crowded; not unless it is the casual hawker selling manicures.
